Andy Soucek will compete in the GP2 series in 2007 alongside Christian Bakkerud at DPR.
The 21-year-old finished the 2006 season as runner-up in World Series by Renault, and tested for DPR back in November.
The team had been hoping to sign him since the test, but the deal only came together following a recent meeting between Soucek's representatives in Spain.
"It was a question of DPR or not at all," said Soucek, who won the 2005 Spanish Formula Three title. "We work well together, and I'm glad the waiting is over."
Team boss David Price added: "Andy showed a lot of potential in the November test, and I'm happy he has been so patient in our deal or no deal period."
DPR were set to enter the 2007 season in a joint effort with Carlin Motorsport, but since the team announced that the deal would not be happening, they have confirmed both of their drivers in less than a week.
