Toro Rosso third driver Neel Jani will replace Nicolas Lapierre in the Silverstone race next week, the Arden team announced on Thursday.
Lapierre was injured in a multi-car accident at the start of the Monaco race, leaving two of his vertebrae compressed. The French driver will have to rest for four to five weeks, meaning he will miss the race at Silverstone.
Lapierre will be hoping to return to action for his home race in France in July.
Swiss driver Jani will take Lapierre's seat in what will be his first GP2 race since last year.
The Toro Rosso driver finished in seventh position in last year's championship, winning two races.
