Former Minardi driver Alex Yoong has revealed that he has received a host of offers to compete in America's CART series but insisted he is in no rush to confirm his future plans as he looks to secure a F1 test drive as well.
Yoong struggled in Formula One with the back-of-the-grid team last season as he failed to qualify three times and was dropped for two races in favour of Briton Anthony Davidson.
The Malaysian plans to switch to the American CART series next year and has received a host of offers, but claimed he plans to sit down and discuss the options before making any hasty decisions.
"There's no hurry to make an announcement," Yoong said on his official website. "It's a comfortable situation and there is no shortage of offers. Rick (Gorne), my manager and I have narrowed it down to a few of the better teams we want to be with."
Yoong added that he wants to combine the CART season with a test role in F1 and added: "I am also looking to try and get a testing role with a mid-level F1 team to run alongside a full season in CART.
"I don't know if that's possible but if it is, then it will be ideal for me as it will allow me to return to Formula One when the opportunity arises."
