Williams sets launch date
Williams has become the latest team to set the launch date for its new car. The FW26 is due to be unveiled to the world on January 5 next year
The team has yet to announce a venue for the launch, which will see the public debut of what is likely to be one of the most important F1 cars of 2004. Williams-BMW took a major leap in competitiveness this season, and the team will be hopeful that the FW26 can end Michael Schumacher and Ferrari's four-year win streak.
The team's driver line-up remains unchanged, but the launch will be a good opportunity to see if any tension has developed between Williams staff and the Juan Pablo Montoya, who will depart for McLaren at the end of next season.
Williams is the fourth team to set a launch date for its 2004 machine, although it is currently scheduled to be the first to unveil its new car. Sauber will follow on January 12, Jaguar on the 18th and Renault on the 29th.
