Nico Rosberg and Nelson Piquet junior, both teenage sons of former champions, completed a test with Williams on Thursday that both hope will land them a future role with the Formula One team.
Williams said in a statement that the 18-year-olds had acquitted themselves well after each running for a day and a half at the southern Spanish Jerez circuit for a total distance of 1,000 km.
"Nelson and Nico did a good job and worked well with the team, as well as showing themselves to be technically competent," said chief operations engineer Sam Michael.
Rosberg, son of Finland's 1982 champion Keke, had tested previously for the team after winning last year's German Formula BMW title.
"This week was great fun, it was a really unbelievable experience," he said. "Of course there was a lot of pressure but I decided not to worry about that and just do the best I could."
Piquet, whose father and namesake won three titles including one with Williams, said: "It went really well, particularly today despite it being wet for some of the time, and I was quite satisfied with how I got on."
Rosberg set his fastest lap of 1:19.468 seconds on Wednesday while Piquet's best of 1:20.453 was on Tuesday. The Brazilian lapped the faster of the pair on Thursday.
