Williams designer injured
BMW WilliamsF1 team chief designer Gavin Fisher has sustained serious pelvis injuries in an off-road motorcycle accident in southern Califonia

The 40-year-old, who has led the development programme on the last two Williams challengers the FW25 and FW26, remains in a stable condition in a Los Angeles hospital following surgery.
Fisher is expected to make a full recovery but will remain hospitalised in the US for three weeks before returning to the UK for further treatment.
Mark Loasby, a senior design engineer employed at Williams for over fourteen years, will provide cover for Fisher's role until his return to work.
"I spoke to Gavin over the weekend," said the team's technical director Sam Michael, "and thankfully the surgery he underwent immediately after his accident appears to have been successful, but he will be unable to fly back to the UK for some weeks.
"It is fortunate that we have strength in depth in the design office, and Mark Loasby will cover Gavin's post during his recuperation. Much of the fundamental layout work for the FW27 is underway. We wish Gavin all the best for a speedy recovery."
