Weber: Schumacher Not Retiring
Michael Schumacher is not considering retiring from Formula One despite his Ferrari team's current struggles, according to his manager Willi Weber
Ferrari have struggled in 2005 and 36-year-old Schumacher has just one, devalued, victory in the US Grand Prix that was shunned by all seven Michelin-equipped teams.
Weber, however, believes Schumacher's problems are not affecting his motivation to continue in Formula One.
"It doesn't matter at all," said Weber of Schumacher's current situation. "His decision only depends on whether he still has the motivation to race in Formula One or not. At the moment he is still fired up despite the difficult situation.
"But I believe that, even if this situation continues next year, he will keep on racing."
Schumacher has a contract with Ferrari until the end of 2006, and Weber said a decision on his future will not be made until next summer.
"The contracts runs out at the end of 2006 and in the summer of next year we will decide how to continue," Weber told the SID news agency. "But at the moment Ferrari has other problems.
"And one thing is for sure, Michael Schumacher will not be available at a discount price. He still is the best driver around and he will not agree to a reduced salary."
