Valles says he could race in Hungary
Spyker test driver Adrian Valles is hopeful he will race for the Dutch team at next month's Hungarian Grand Prix
Spyker are looking for a replacement for Christijan Albers, sacked by the team after the British Grand Prix, and it has emerged that German Markus Winkelhock is the favourite to replace him at this weekend's European Grand Prix.
However, with Winkelhock's deal expected to cover just one race, Valles says he has a chance to race in the following Grand Prix in Hungary.
"For the Grand Prix at Nurburgring I knew I didn't have any chances, but for the one in Hungary I do," Valles was quoted as saying by AS newspaper. "It's possible that I race at Hungaroring."
Valles, however, reckons it will not be easy to land the drive, but the Spaniard says he will not take it as a personal failure, as his plans are to find a race drive in 2008.
"Surely the current situation is an opportunity for me, but becoming a race driver is pretty hard and it will depend on a lot of factors. Now we have to talk to the team and work very hard to make that small possibility work out.
"In any case, if they don't chose me to replace Christijan it will be fine, it's not a failure. This year I have to keep learning. My goal is still to be a race driver in 2008."
Valles last drove the Spyker on June 19th during testing at Silverstone.
