Valencia 2: Wurz on top
Alexander Wurz continued to keep McLaren at the top of the time sheets on the second day of testing at Valencia in Spain on Thursday, as the 2004 machines maintained their dominance of the time sheets
The Austrian outpaced Renault's Franck Montagny by more than one-and-a-half seconds as Jenson Button proved the quickest of the 2005 cars with the third best time - almost two seconds adrift of Wurz.
With less wind making testing more meaningful than had been the case on Wednesday, most drivers were able to complete fairly major running - with the only drama seeming to befall Fernando Alonso.
The Renault ace, making his return to the F1 cockpit after a winter break, suffered a spin and an engine failure to end up fifth fastest behind Takuma Sato in the concept BAR.
Alexander Wurz (McLaren), 1m09.510s, 142 laps
Franck Montagny (Renault), 1m11.179s, 157 laps
Jenson Button (BAR), 1m11.255s, 127 laps
Takuma Sato (BAR), 1m11.388s, 132 laps
Fernando Alonso (Renault), 1m11.468s, 58 laps
Jacques Villeneuve (Sauber), 1m12.298s, 107 laps
