Trulli Optimistic of Scoring More Points

Italian Jarno Trulli is optimistic he will score points at tomorrow's Brazilian Grand Prix after another strong showing from the Renault team in today's grid-deciding qualifying.

Italian Jarno Trulli is optimistic he will score points at tomorrow's Brazilian Grand Prix after another strong showing from the Renault team in today's grid-deciding qualifying.

Trulli, who started from second place in Malaysia two weeks ago, put on another good performance today, posting the fifth fastest time of the day. After having scored points both in Australia and Malaysia, Trulli is looking to score again tomorrow.

"The team has done a very good job these past two days in developing the car and the result is reflected in my fifth place today," said Trulli. "I am very happy with the car, since we found a good compromise with the aero-package.

"Furthermore, I am confident with the race strategy we have chosen and with the reliability of the car, so I really think we should finish in the points tomorrow."

Malaysian Grand Prix pole setter Fernando Alonso was unable to repeat the feat today, having to settle for 10th position nearly half a second behind Trulli. The young Spaniard, however, remained optimistic.

"Today in qualifying we were able to work on a dry track, which had been impossible yesterday afternoon," said Alonso. "I am quite happy with my laptime because I didn't make any mistakes and the car felt good.

"I am in 10th position and, considering that I believe we have a good strategy, I think that tomorrow we could bring home some more points."
