Toyota TF105B Unlikely to Debut in Brazil

Toyota may be forced to delay the debut of their TF105B until the Japanese Grand Prix due to the bad weather that hit the final day of testing at Silverstone this week, Autosport-Atlas has learned

The revamped car had gone well in the hands of Olivier Panis during the first two days of the test and the team were ready to give it the green light for an introduction in Brazil if Ralf Schumacher was happy with it during today's running.

But plans to give Schumacher the car for the day were scuppered when rain hit the test - forcing the team to change their testing schedule. Panis ran the car in the wet morning session, while Schumacher only managed 16 laps later in the day when the track had started to dry out.

And with the team not getting the data from the car they would have liked, and being locked in such a close fight with Ferrari in the Constructors' Championship, there is now only a slight chance of the team risking it for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Toyota technical co-ordinator Keizo Takahashi told Autosport-Atlas: "Although Ralf was happy with the car we did not get as much data as we would have liked.

"We have to test some more, so we will see in the next test if we can bring it in for the last two races. At the moment there is only a very minute possibility of bringing it to Brazil."
