Nine of the ten Formula One teams will boycott the meeting with the FIA, scheduled for April 15, Autosport-Atlas can reveal

Teams to Boycott FIA Meeting

The nine teams, which include all the existing Formula One outfits except Ferrari, and the five carmakers involved in F1 - BMW, Mercedes, Renault, Toyota and Honda - met today for continued discussion on the future of the sport and preparations for a breakaway series, scheduled for 2008.

"It was a good meeting again," BAR CEO Nick Fry told Autosport-Atlas. "We have a great alignment between the nine teams and the five manufacturers, and we're working through the four different working groups, with each of the teams reporting positive progress and a good endorsement of what is going to happen.

"But this work will take a couple of months to complete. We are still heading towards our schedule of having something - which we will be pleased to share with the FIA and Bernie [Ecclestone] - probably around July-August time.

"So no-one is going to attend the meeting with Max [on April 15th], and there will be a press release to say that."

The group of nine have boycotted the previous meeting with the FIA, on January 28 this year, after the FIA and FOM had signed an agreement with Ferrari to extend the Concorde Agreement until 2012.

According to the opposing teams, the agreement between the three gave Ferrari power of veto, as well as significant income beyond any share of the profit.

After the January 28 meeting, however, FIA president Max Mosley believed the teams would come around, stating: "I think there is an element of sulking at the moment. It's a question of whether they are still sulking after Bahrain."
