Sutil bullish on qualifying prospects
Adrian Sutil is positive he will enjoy a strong qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix after an impressive performance in Friday's practice
The German continued to show his Force India team is one of the squads to beat following its superb showing at Spa, topping the times in the afternoon at Monza after having finished in third position in the morning session.
Sutil is now convinced he is set to continue with his strong weekend in tomorrow's qualifying.
"I just had a good day," said Sutil. "The car has been increasingly competitive over the past few races, especially in Spa. At the moment - P3 in the morning, and now P1 - it gives me a very good feeling and I'm absolutely confident that the car will be able to achieve a very good qualifying position.
"It's hard to get to P1, but if everything is right and you feel good in the car, then there's no reason why you can't get there.
"I think I've got the experience to go out and be quick, and that's what I'm doing right now."
The Force India driver also praised the new kerbs introduced at Monza for this weekend's race, as he reckons it means all drivers will be forced to take the same lines.
"I think they are much better how they are now because it's equal for everybody," he said. "In previous years there was lots of discussion about cars that were over the white line, and how far over the white line they were.
"Now it's simple: you can't take the kerbs because they're too high and the car is knocked out of balance."
