Speed May Test at Indianapolis
American Scott Speed could be handed the chance to drive in front of his home fans in next month's (June) United States Grand Prix if he impresses in his second test for Red Bull Racing next week
Red Bull backed driver Speed, who currently races for iSport International in the GP2 series, was handed a test with the Red Bull Racing team earlier in the season and stunned engineers with his pace and technical feedback.
Asked if Speed would be handed the chance to drive a third Red Bull car at Indianapolis, team boss Christian Horner said: "He will test at Silverstone on Wednesdsay and if he performs well then there is every chance that will happen."
Red Bull have been running Christian Klien and Vitantonio Liuzzi in their third car this season, rotating them between that role and the role of second race driver alongside Scot David Coulthard.
But with the company's high profile in the United States, the importance of building the Formula One brand there could help Speed become the first American drive a Grand Prix car in Indianapolis since Sarah Fisher tested a McLaren.
