Silverstone enters new phase
Silverstone's first steps towards a future that should lead to it becoming one of the best tracks in the world moved closer on Thursday when the track confirmed a management reshuffle

Following the decision by former British Grand Prix promoters Interpublic to get out of its motor sport commitments, Silverstone's owner the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) has now taken over full operation and promotion of the venue.
As part of this move, the BRDC has also appointed Richard Phillips as the new managing director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, following the decision of predecessor Andrew Waller to stand-down from his role at the venue.
The BRDC's chief executive Alex Hooton said: "Becoming the operator and promoter of Silverstone, through Silverstone Circuits Ltd, as well as being the circuit owner, gives us complete control over the future of the venue and a strong influence over the various events we host.
"Together with our new five year agreement to host the British Grand Prix, these changes ensure that the circuit has a very bright future."
