Senna says British Grand Prix will be unpredictable whatever the weather

Williams driver Bruno Senna believes the British Grand Prix will be an extremely fraught and unpredictable race even if it stays dry

With forecasts still uncertain for Sunday afternoon's race and Saturday morning practice the only dry running Formula 1 teams have had all weekend, Senna is expecting an eventful grand prix regardless of the rain.

"I think we'd see quite an aggressive race in terms of people doing lots of pitstops," said Senna. "It can be a race where anything can happen in the dry because no one has any knowledge of what the tyre can actually do.

"Maybe Lotus and Mercedes have some more knowledge of what the car can do with the tyres, but from what we've seen, it's not very clear."

Senna believes his Williams can be competitive in any conditions, though he admitted that overtaking could be tough in the dry. The Brazilian is starting from 13th on the grid.

"I was very happy with just how good the car was on the prime tyres. We were very strong on the prime tyres," he said. "I didn't get a [clear] lap on the options, but the car was still very good on the options, so I'm sure we can be very competitive whatever the conditions are.

"For sure it's much harder to overtake if the track is dry because then everybody has very similar pace, but again this is a very high tyre wear track and we can make the strategy work.

"It's going to be a lottery if it's dry because nobody has done any proper work on the set-up for dry conditions."
