Schumacher Hopeful for Qualifying
World Champion Michael Schumacher is confident Ferrari can improve on their recent poor qualifying performance after being encouraged by his teammate Rubens Barrichello's times in opening practice for the Canadian Grand Prix
Barrichello finished tenth fastest in the second qualifying session with Schumacher, who has won the last three races in Montreal, down in 16th as Ferrari appeared to struggle once again.
But he believes Barrichello's final run points towards a stronger performance this weekend.
"Rubens used his new tyres much later than me and his time was quite reasonable, so things don't look too bad," said Schumacher.
"Obviously I would like us to be a bit more towards the front of the grid than we have been in the last few races, but we will have to wait and see what happens for qualifying."
Schumacher admitted that he will need some good fortune to turn this weekend into a successful one for Ferrari and when asked if he has been rain dancing already he replied: "Obviously not enough."
