Schumacher approves of Spa changes
Ferrari's Michael Schumacher has given the thumbs up to modifications to the Bus Stop Chicane. Changes were made in the wake of the numerous incidents at the corner in recent years
"The modifications to the Bus Stop chicane work well," he said. "We used to take it flat out, using the kerbs and risking damage to the suspension and tyres, just before going flat through Eau Rouge. It's good from a safety point of view."
Team-mate Rubens Barrichello's spin during the second session, and blamed the incident on his own over-exuberance.
"There was nothing wrong with the car, so I guess that I was just pushing over the limit," he admitted.
Technical Director Ross Brawn was pleased with the team's progress despite losing half-an-hour's running because of fog prior to the first practice session.
"The drivers were happy with the balance of their cars, which performed well considering the fuel load they were carrying," he said. "Consistent tyre performance during the race is important, and if temperatures stay similar to today's then we are in good shape."
