Swiss sport watch brand Certina has signed an agreement to become official partner to the Sauber Formula One team, in a collaboration which includes equipping all members of the Hinwil-based outfit with the timepieces.
In return for this commitment Certina, the sport watch brand of the Swatch Group, will receive a number of marketing services including worldwide visibility for the brand and use of the various event and hospitality platforms available from the Swiss team.
"Certina and Sauber Petronas - these are two brands that ideally fit together. Gaining a Swiss company as a partner is always something very special for me," said Team Principal Peter Sauber.
"Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsport, reaching out to sporty audiences around the world," said Adrian Bosshard, President of Certina. "Team Sauber Petronas and Certina share the same attributes: precision, reliability, high-tech and dynamism. This fact combined with the high popularity and support enjoyed by Sauber speak for this partnership. What's more, both companies have Swiss roots and are active in a highly competitive international environment."
