Sato Upset at BAR Mistreatment
Takuma Sato has revealed that he was only officially told he was out of a drive at BAR next season after the team made a public announcement to confirm that Jenson Button will remain with the team in 2006
The move has left the Japanese furious about the way he has been treated, and a disappointed Sato confirmed yesterday: "I was only told of the fact after the announcement on Wednesday. Until then I was busy doing some work for Lucky Strike in Argentina.
"Of course I had been informed by my manager about what was going on, but several people called me only after the announcement was made."
Sato's disappointment about the team's attitude towards him, and the fact that Button and the incoming Rubens Barrichello have long-term deals, has meant he will definitely not remain at the team next year.
"I will not stay with BAR," he confirmed.
When asked whether he would be willing to accept the reserve driver position, Sato responded: "No. I will not stay here. I will go elsewhere."
