Jordan rookie Takuma Sato is doing so much to ensure he puts in a good performance at this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix that he has already taken to the wheel of a hire car to try out the track.
Sato, who graduated from the British Formula Three championship this year, is thought to be racing for his Formula One future after a series of crashes that have marred his debut season.
He finished in eighth place three weeks ago at Hockenheim, his best performance to date, but he is in need of a points-scoring result and believes Hungary could be the place to do it.
"I visited the circuit in a hire car a few weeks ago," admitted Sato. "Even though it was damp, it was interesting. It's a bit like a go-kart track, good fun to drive but not the most difficult F1 track.
"I hope we can carry on performing well and improve on my eighth place finish at the German Grand prix and although I know how hard it is to score points, I think it's not impossible. I can't wait to grab them."
