Rubens predicts Spa success

Ferrari's Rubens Barrichello is eager to return to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix and hopes to repeat the team's 1-2 result of 2002, the last time F1 raced at the historic track

The majority of the 20 drivers that will line up on the grid in Belgium this weekend would name Spa as one of their favourite circuits on the calendar. Barrichello is no exception and after the race was knocked off the calendar in 2003 the Brazilian is impatient to get out and try it once again.

"I am looking forward to returning to Spa as it is a fantastic circuit," he said. "I hope they have just made a few modifications to some of the high-speed sections in the interest of safety. Apart from that, driving there is a phenomenal sensation."

Ferrari has won 12 of the 13 races so far this year and with the capricious weather likely to bring rain during the weekend Barrichello is certain the team can notch up yet another victory.

"Knowing what the weather can be like in this part of the world, we might even get the opportunity to see what our car is like in the wet," he said. "I am sure we can have a good weekend as our car seems to go well at every type of track. But we will have to wait and see how the weekend develops.

"In Hungary, we had a tyre that really made the difference in our favour, but Formula 1 technology never sleeps and there are so many people fighting for second place in the Constructors' Championship, that I am sure they will be working hard to provide strong competition."
