Rubens has Michelin worries
Rubens Barrichello has admitted to worries about the potential pace of the Michelin tyres that all Ferrari's major Formula 1 rivals will run on next season
The Brazilian driver was acknowledged the improvements Michelin made in 2003, and has confessed that the French manufacturer could seize the initiative if take another step forward next season.
"If I look at the last few seasons, there are reasons to worry, of course," Barrichello told Gazzatta della Sport. "The improvement Michelin made in 2003 was impressive. If they make another one like that next year, we will have to catch up."
After dominating in 2002, Ferrari faced intense competition from Williams, McLaren and Renault this season. Barrichello believes that next season could be closer still.
"I'm under no illusions," he said. "It will be a hard battle against McLaren, Williams and Renault, and who knows if some other team will manage to come out with a competitive car that can fight for the top spots. Obviously I hope that the end of the season will be like it was this year, with Ferrari winning."
