Red Bull in No Rush over Drivers

Red Bull Racing have made it clear that there is no definitive deadline laid down for Christian Klien to prove that he is good enough to keep hold of his race seat with the team, despite another strong performance from third driver Vitantonio Liuzzi in first practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix

Klien was given the pre-season nod to start the year as David Coulthard's teammate but was told that his position would be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

And although there is mounting speculation that Liuzzi will be handed a race chance for the start of the European season, the team's sporting director Christian Horner has made it clear that there is no firm deadline for a decision to be made.

"Both drivers (Klien and Liuzzi) have long-term contracts and we will review that position on an ongoing basis," he said after first practice in Malaysia on Friday. "There is no judgement on when or if we will make a change. It will simply be reviewed on an ongoing basis."

Klien boosted his chances of keeping his place at Red Bull Racing with a seventh placed finish in Australia, but Liuzzi's strong form in Malaysia on Friday, where he set the third fastest time, will likely keep up the pressure on team management to consider giving him a race chance.

After Red Bull Racing's surprisingly strong showing in Melbourne, Horner is upbeat about finishing in the points this weekend - although much will depend on how high up his cars can qualify.

"I don't think we will be able to repeat what we did in Australia, but we will see," said Horner. "It will be interesting to see, with this being the second race for engines, who will be around at the end of it.

"But I think we are in reasonable shape and if we can qualify in the top ten, because we are kind on our tyres, then we should be able to get in the points."
