Ralf Set to Race TF105B in Japan

German driver Ralf Schumacher is set to race Toyota's revised TF105B car at the Japanese Grand Prix, Autosport-Atlas has learned

The Japanese squad have been working on the development of the car for weeks, and although they were hoping to debut it in Brazil, its introduction was delayed after the team were unable to gather sufficient data in the final test ahead of the Interlagos race.

Toyota, however, have been working with the car at the Jerez circuit this week and, although the final decision is expected after tomorrow's final session, the Cologne-based squad look set to take one of the TF105B chassis to Suzuka for Schumacher.

Teammate Jarno Trulli is set to continue using the current TF105, although the Italian's decision is also expected tomorrow.

Schumacher has been struggling to match Trulli's pace this season, and it is believed the new car suits the German's driving style better, which is the main reason why he would get the TF105B.

Trulli, meanwhile, feels more comfortable with the current machine. Schumacher was at the wheel of the TF105B yesterday at Jerez, before Trulli took over today. He will drive again tomorrow.

"I'm just not conformable with it," Trulli told Autosport-Atlas after today's session. "The steering feels different from the standard car and I don't feel confident in it.

"I'll give it another go tomorrow, but unless I feel confident about it I'm not going to drive it."
