Ralf Schumacher Q&A
Ralf Schumacher kept himself in the championship fight with a fourth place in Budapest. A spin at the start dropped him to the back of the field - rather ironic bearing in mind it cost $50,000 to skip the FIA's intended 10 position penalty - but thereafter he made good progress and did a lot of passing. A series of niggling problems slowed his pace, and when team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya spun near the end Ralf wasn't quite close enough to pass him. Had he done so, it would have created a four-point swing in his favour relative to the Colombian. However as he is still in the mathematical fight there will be no team orders at Monza
"I just didn't have a good start. It was related to the launch control system, and we have to check that later. Juan braked a little bit earlier than I expected and I nearly hit him in the back. I had to go to the right side on the dirty bit, and then I spun."
"Our guy didn't raise the lollipop because he thought I would have crashed into a Ferrari if he let me go, so he just took a little bit more caution."
"Well, I have to check the videos but obviously the guy with the sign sees it better than I do, and I have total trust in my team, so I'm sure he did the right thing."
"I had quite a few problems today. Once the fuelling rig didn't work so I had to come in early, then I had a puncture after the second stop which went lower lap by lap really, and then on the last stint I had brake problems and I had to slow down because I was over the limit. But when he spun I tried it again, but it didn't work out."
"No, not at all. The team cannot stand behind both of us, and there's no problem at all to fight."
