Ralf improving but Patrick injured!

Ralf Schumacher is in the USA and looking forward to getting stuck into helping BMW WilliamsF1 win the constructors' championship. Technical director Patrick Head, meanwhile, has appeared at Indianapolis with a 'pot' on his right ankle, after falling over in the team's wind tunnel. Head was apparently attending to the team's model while the tunnel was still in operation

Schumacher, who stood down after the first day at Monza and was replaced by Marc Gene, said: "I feel pretty well. I haven't been in the car since Monza so we'll have to see how I feel tomorrow, but I guess there shouldn't be any problem."

Explaining his decision at Monza, Ralf added: "It was a particularly difficult moment in my life because it hadn't happened to me before and I hope it doesn't happen again.

"I watched the start at home on TV and then turned it off. I couldn't watch it. Sometimes I've been on the grid and known I couldn't win and thought I'd rather be at home on the sofa today for once, but this was a pretty strange situation to be in."

Schumacher thinks that Williams will be the team to beat at Indy. "I think we have the best car in the pitlane, so we've got a very good chance to win here," he said. "My role is the same as usual - to try and score as many points for the team as possible and to do a good job."
