Ralf confident of trouble-free start

Ralf Schumacher says he does not expect to have any problems with his Williams team mate Juan Pablo Montoya on the run to the first corner, after the pair qualified on the first and second row for Sunday's Austrian Grand Prix

The German starts behind his brother Michael in pole and Montoya in second and while he was surprised to be ahead of the McLarens in qualifying Ralf is confident there will be no-first corner clash with his team mate.

"Whoever is first to the corner will go in first. I hope it is not be a problem at all," he said. "I am surprised at our performance, especially after testing in Valencia last week. We were one second slower than McLaren but have now outqualified them by quite a bit. But lets see what happens tomorrow."

As the Williams team goes from strength to strength to strength, both drivers are keen to get the upper hand over the other. Schumacher won the San Marino Grand Prix last month and Montoya scored a solid second place in Spain two weeks ago.

Schumacher is sure the FW22 will be competitive for the sixth round of the world championship, but potentially not until the second half of Sunday's race.

"We are sure we will be competitive for the second half of the race but the first half might be different. As a team we had a good qualifying session and we are in a pretty promising position for the race."
