Qualifying Format Change Approved

After team bosses agreed on a new format at last weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, the Formula One Commission and the FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the changes on Monday.

There will now be a single qualifying session which will take place from 13.00 to 14.00 local time on Saturdays. It will be run in race fuel conditions and the cars will be put into parc ferme afterwards.

The FIA have also confirmed that the running order will be decided by reversing the finishing order of the previous race, with the winner of the last race being the final man out on the track.
