Priaulx makes test debut
FIA European touring car champion Andy Priaulx made his Formula 1 debut in a Williams-BMW FW26 at Valencia on Thursday. The Guernseyman was given the test as a reward for winning the tin-top title with BMW
Priaulx spent the winter working ultra-hard on his fitness and body strength to make sure that he can make the most of his F1 run and although Priaulx was only pencilled in for a half day run, he recently admitted to private hopes that he may do a good enough job in the run to be asked back for further tests in the future.
"I don't even pretend that I am going to be in for an F1 season," said Priaulx at the Autosport International Racing Car Show two weeks ago, "but I just want to be able to say that I have done a really professional job - and the team can say, 'yeah, he was alright, we can use him again.' It is down to me to do a good job.
Autosport.com will report back with news of Priaulx's reaction to the test as soon as it breaks.
