Podcast: Mario Andretti reflects on his F1 and Indy 500 career

The 1978 Formula 1 world champion and 1969 Indianapolis 500 winner looks back on some of the key moments and cars of his long career, as well as updating us on Fernando Alonso's progress in the build-up to the Indianapolis 500 with his son Michael's team.

Among the many topics covered are Andretti's comeback with Ferrari in 1982, including that famous pole position at Monza, as well as how he got on with the Lotus 79 on his way to winning the world title.

There's also a look back at his Indy win, as well as discussion of exactly why he wasn't able to head to Victory Lane there again despite having started the race a total of 29 times.

Andretti also offers some fascinating insight into son Michael's difficult time in F1 with McLaren in 1993, and what might have been had he stayed on.

There's also a look at grandson Marco's progress as he chases his first Indy 500 win, which would only be the second for the family.
