Lewis Hamilton saw off Max Verstappen to claim victory in the 2021 Formula 1 opener in an enthralling Bahrain Grand Prix.

A combination of an aggressive Mercedes strategy, pre-race tyre selections and some controversial track limit flashpoints resulted in Hamilton beating Verstappen by less than a second at the end of an epic race at the Bahrain International Circuit.
There were talking points aplenty, including the fight for victory between Mercedes and Red Bull, as the 2021 F1 season finally got underway with a mix of new and returning faces, plus rebranded teams to provide a fresh look to the grid this year.
