No decision on Ralf Schumacher yet

WilliamsF1 driver Ralf Schumacher is recovering from his leg wounds, but is still unconfirmed for the Canadian Grand Prix, according to a statement issued by the team today

"At present I am not in a position to tell if I will be at the start of the Canadian Grand Prix," acknowledged Schumacher.

The German was injured by a suspension arm that punctured the tub in the Monaco Grand Prix. However, a medical examination performed yesterday at the Princess Grace hospital in Monaco on the brother of twice-world champion Michael, revealed that there is no metal or carbon fibre in the wound.

The recovery process will therefore be less complicated and quicker than feared.

"Last night I slept quite well because the pain had decreased a bit, but I am still able to put any weight on my leg. The doctors told me I must have complete rest for two/three days," Schumacher added.

Bruno Junqueira, the team's test driver, will stand in for the Monza test this week and the race if required.
