Montoya Hopes for Improvements in Canada

Juan Pablo Montoya is hoping his Williams team will not be dogged by the continued failure of testing improvements to transfer into racing when he gets back on track at the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Colombian hot-shoe is concerned that the team are not showing the promise of their testing performances when it comes to the race and still believes there is work to be done.

"Every time we find something in testing, for example the balance, it works well," said Montoya. "But then in the race it doesn't seem to pay off, so we don't know our way around it yet."

Williams have come under criticism recently for their inconsistency and unreliability, having only seen three cars to the finish from 14 opportunities.

But things look promising before the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday and Michael Schumacher has backed the team to improve on a Montreal track which is expected to suit them. However, with only one finish so far this season, Montoya's main target is to finish.

"Top priority for me is seeing the chequered flag," Montoya added, "which I failed to do too many times so far."
