Michael crossed exit line too, says Ralf

Ralf Schumacher claims both Ferraris crossed the pit lane exit white line during last weekend's European Grand Prix

Michael crossed exit line too, says Ralf

And he says his team will be watching carefully in France after an e-mail to race stewards from eagle-eyed Ferrari officials about his exit route cost him a shot at victory at the Nurburgring.

The Williams star, who starts the French Grand Prix from pole for the first time in his career, was slapped with a 10-second stop-go for the infringement. The penalty cost him the chance of battling for victory with his brother.

But Ralf says the world champion also broke the rules and so did his Ferrari team mate Rubens Barrichello - but they got away with it.

"I got a penalty, which is fair enough," said Schumacher Jnr. "I am not arguing with that. But they should have fined me, given me a warning or a suspended ban rather than the penalty. Other drivers did it too and nothing happened to them.

"Rubens crossed the line and Michael was driving a little bit across it as well. I guess they didn't get a penalty too because the stewards didn't spot Michael and Rubens."

While Ferrari instantly e-mailed race stewards to point out Ralf's infraction Williams-BMW did not do the same.

"In future we will have to watch other teams more carefully, do the same as Ferrari and report them as well," said.
