McLaren wins Edison award for innovation and excellence
McLaren has been rewarded for its environmental efforts by taking a silver medal in the prestigious 2012 Edison Awards - which award innovation and excellence
Named after the famous American inventor Thomas Edison, the awards go to companies which, in the judge's eyes, have championed scientific achievement.
McLaren received the silver award in the Green Implementation category, for its efforts to improve carbon efficiency. The Woking-based team earned the Carbon Trust Standard last year after becoming carbon neutral.
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh said: "I'm delighted that our ongoing efforts to manage and improve our carbon efficiency have been recognised by the Edison Awards judging panel. This is a fantastic achievement for the whole team."
The Green Implementation gold medal went to the Volkswagen Group of America.
