Former champion Nigel Mansell claims that five-times World Champion Michael Schumacher is one of the greatest drivers the sport has seen after the German broke his record of nine wins in a season.
Ferrari driver Schumacher romped to his 10th success of the season at Spa-Francorchamps today and earned yet another place in the record books as he eclipsed the previous mark shared by 1992 champion Mansell and himself.
Mansell, knowing what lay ahead in Belgium, had flown in to the track to be there to see Schumacher end his 10-year grip on the honour.
"I just knew it was coming so I wished him luck before the race," said Mansell. "Everyone can see how good he is. The record books don't lie. He is one of the greatest drivers we have ever seen."
Schumacher also scored his 16th consecutive podium finish and is only two points away from breaking the record for most number of points in a single season, set by him last year with 123.
