Liuzzi to Race at the Nurburgring

Vitantonio Liuzzi will drive for Red Bull Racing at the European Grand Prix this weekend, the team said today

Liuzzi was scheduled to race for the team in three races - the San Marino, Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix - having swapped placed with Austrian Christian Klien, who raced for the team in the first three races of the season, while Liuzzi was running the testing programme on the Friday practice sessions.

But Red Bull said today they would like Liuzzi to continue racing for a fourth race, with Klien returning to the race seat for the Canadian Grand Prix next month.

"After having evaluated both drivers' performance during their three race stints, the team have decided that Tonio will continue as race driver at the next GP in Germany," sporting director Christian Horner said.

"Christian will then be back in the race car from Montreal, having made a valuable contribution to the team in the last 3 races as third driver."

Liuzzi has one Championship point, while Klien scored three points in total. Red Bull are currently sixth in the Constructors' Championship.
