Klien Fails to Start Bahrain GP
Red Bull driver Christian Klien did not take the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix today, after his car failed to take off the grid for the formation lap of the race
Austrian Klien has had an impressive weekend so far, out-qualifying veteran teammate David Coulthard in both the first and second qualifying sessions, and taking the seventh grid position.
But when the cars took off for the installation lap of the race, Klien was left stranded on the grid. His car was pushed to the pitlane, but the team were not able to restart it and the Austrian retired from the event.
"It was really disappointing," Klien told reporters during the race. "We went to start up the car, but there was some sort of electronic problem, so we could not start it up. So had to stop before the race [even began].
"It was really disappointing, and I am not happy about it."
Red Bull Racing are currently third in the Constructors' Championship, with Klien tenth in the Drivers' Championship, with three points.
