Klien aiming for more points

Mark Webber may have crashed out of the Belgian Grand Prix having qualified a strong seventh, but his Jaguar Racing team-mate Christian Klien had his best F1 showing to date, finishing sixth in the race and scoring the first points of his grand prix career

Klien followed this up with an impressive test at Monza last week (his first three-day test since he joined Jaguar) where he consistently outpaced his highly-rated Australian team-mate and is full of confidence heading into the Italian Grand Prix this weekend at Monza.

"I'm really keen to get back out on the track this weekend," he said. "My first experience of this track was two years ago when I had test day in a Formula Renault. Fortunately the team's test last week allowed me to experience the track in an F1 car.

"The test was a real bonus for me as I am now confident around the track heading into the weekend. The R5 is proving reliable and fast and it's a points contender. I am now really keen to keep pushing and score more points."

Webber crashed into Takuma Sato at Eau Rouge on the first lap of the Belgian GP and is keen to make up for it in Italy. The Australian also felt that last week's test put the team in good stead for the weekend.

"The test allowed us to work on tyre compounds and general race set-up," he said. "The track conditions can change frequently there so it is good going into the race with so much mileage and thus data already under our belt."

The team's MD David Pitchforth said: "Our race weekend in Belgium produced a good result and we have been focusing very hard on what we need to do to achieve more results like these before the end of the season.

"Although there are no specific upgrades for the R5 this weekend we have continued to develop many parts of the car. We have a good strong package this weekend and although we know the track is demanding, we will doing all we can to score more points."
