Justin happy with 'spot-on' car
Justin Wilson was pleased after beating experienced Minardi team-mate Jos Verstappen in the final qualifying session for the British Grand Prix
The Briton's performance came after he failed to set a time in the first session yesterday (Friday), with his car's ignition switch turning the machine off before he started his flying lap.
"I wasn't quite happy with the car in the [pre-qualifying] warm-up, so we made a small change and it was spot-on for qualifying," said Wilson, who will line up 18th on the grid. "The lap itself I felt was neat and tidy, and I'd like to thank the guys for all their hard work. Okay, we're not at the front of the grid, but I'm happy with the way it's gone so far this weekend."
Minardi boss Paul Stoddart praised the rookies performance, and expressed hope that Wilson could sneak a point in the race. "We are hopeful that, in the right circumstances, a championship point or two can be had tomorrow," said Stoddart.
"As this is Justin's home race, it would be particularly rewarding if he could take a point, especially considering the fantastic effort he has put in for Minardi so far this season."
