Jordan to Attend Friday Hearing in Paris

Team boss Eddie Jordan will personally attend the hearing into the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix on Friday in Paris as his driver Giancarlo Fisichella waits to discover if he will be handed his maiden victory.

Team boss Eddie Jordan will personally attend the hearing into the results of the Brazilian Grand Prix on Friday in Paris as his driver Giancarlo Fisichella waits to discover if he will be handed his maiden victory.

Jordan will fly to the headquarters of Formula One's governing body, the FIA, in the French capital along with team manager Tim Edwards to hear the verdict.

"Eddie will be going with our team manager Tim Edwards," a team spokeswoman said.

McLaren-Mercedes driver Kimi Raikkonen was declared the winner of the Interlagos race when it was stopped supposedly after 55 laps when Spaniard Fernando Alonso crashed out ahead of the start-finish straight.

The results were classified for the 53rd lap, under the law that it is taken from two laps earlier, with Raikkonen declared the winner. But the FIA understand Fisichella had started his 56th lap of the race so he would be the winner with the results declared on lap 54.

They will discuss the results in Paris on Friday when they meet organisers of the Brazilian Grand Prix and official timekeepers. If Italian Fisichella is awarded the win it would mark his first ever Grand Prix victory after 110 attempts, and it would crown a spectacular 200th Grand Prix weekend for his Jordan team - albeit five days after Sunday's race.
