Jordan Hits Out at Coulthard

Formula One team boss Eddie Jordan criticised McLaren's David Coulthard for clashing with Jordan driver Jarno Trulli at the start of Sunday's British Grand Prix and said that the incident will have cost the Scot a chance of title glory.
Coulthard moved over as fourth-placed Jarno Trulli tried to make it through on the inside of Copse and Trulli's rear wheel hit the McLaren driver's bodywork. The incident sent Jordan's man Trulli out of the race, and left Coulthard nursing damage that eventually gave way to pitch him off the circuit and into the gravel two laps later.
"I feel strongly that David took too big a gamble," said Jordan on the team website. "He must surely have known that Jarno was on the inside, and why he just kept going is beyond me. By not giving Jarno any space David ruined his chances of fighting with Michael for the title. It is an enormous pity as I would like very much to see David win the Championship.
"David knew he was in ultimately a faster car, so he achieved nothing more than ruining his championship chances by not giving Jarno room to come through. Someone of his calibre knows that in order to win the Championship he has to accumulate points, so having made a poor start, he should have realised that a charger from behind would be going for glory at the first corner."
However, after McLaren's return to form at Silverstone, where Coulthard's teammate Mika Hakkinen dominated to claim victory, Coulthard remains defiant that he can still win the title.
