Jordan Field Turkish Driver for Home Run

Jordan Grand Prix will give Turkish driver Jason Tahincioglu a chance to run demonstration laps in the EJ15 in front of his home crowd, at the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix, the team said today

Tahincioglu, currently competing in Formula Renault with Team JLR, will become the first Turkish driver to run in a Formula One car.

The Turk already had his first shakedown at Silverstone, familiarising himself with the car, and his demonstration run is scheduled for Sunday morning, ahead of the race.

"To be running in front of my home crowd will be an amazing scenario," Tahincioglu said. "After all, having a Turkish driver driving a Formula One car on his home track is what the Turkish people and fans dream of seeing.

"It will be a great buzz and I am hoping that I, along with Jordan Grand Prix, will put on a good show and that we will have a fantastic outcome."

The Turkish Grand Prix takes place in Istanbul next weekend, on August 21st.
