Jean Todt Q&A

Back in 1993 he was given the job of turning Ferrari around, and this season Jean Todt has finally brought a World Championship back to Ferrari. In Malaysia the teams' version was tied up for the second successive year as Michael Schumacher gave the Scuderia its 10th win from 10 starts. It's been an amazing season for the Italian outfit, with Michael winning the first three races and then the last four after stumbling in the summer months. Adam Cooper spoke to Todt after the race in Sepang

"You know in rallying I think we won all of the events, or almost, but probably it was easier."

"It was a very difficult season up to today. There was a very big tension even today for the manufacturers' championship, because we wanted to try to get all we could get. Now we feel better because it has been a very tough season with very tough competitors."

"For 10 years he'd done a great job! Honestly I don't think there's one race in particular. A lot of his races were fantastic. He's been a great driver, but I think it is all together. He did some great driving, the team did a great job, and we scored points in all the Grands Prix. It is a team achievement. Michael is a strong part of the team, but he's a part of the team. Michael needs the team and the team needs Michael, so it's just all complimentary."

"We had a reliability problem in Magny-Cours, then the start in Austria, the start in Hockenheim, then we were not happy about the race in Budapest, we were not happy about the race in Spa. Then things went the other way round."

"We just kept working."

"Everywhere. You should never give up, and you must be concentrated. Even if you win, you must be concentrated. Of course it's more demanding and more difficult to work when things don't go the way we want."

"Very good. He did a great job for his first year. He was very consistent and reliable."

"Yes, very important. As I said he's done a great job."

"Try to win it again next year."

"We will see..."
