Jaguar happy to see luck at last

Jaguar reckon they deserved the luck that saw both cars qualify in the top ten at Suzuka today. Mark Webber will be starting in sixth, four places and four tenths in front of team-mate Justin Wilson

"We've been on the receiving end of bad weather many times this season," said Mark Gillan, Jaguar's Head of Vehicle Performance. "For once it's nice to have been on the right side of the elements. Both drivers did an excellent job in conditions that were far from perfect.

"Apart from a tiny mistake from Justin going into turn one, I don't think we could have asked for much more. With heavy showers forecast for tomorrow, bringing the cars home will be the order of the day We've done 1300 trouble-free kilometres this weekend and there hasn't been a single reliability issue.

Jaguar know they cannot afford to drop a points-scoring opportunity tomorrow. Toyota, among their close rivals for fifth in the championship, have got both cars on the second row.

"We were a little lucky with the weather," said Webber. "But it's about time. I still had to take it a little careful at the end of my lap with showers falling around the chicane. I'll take sixth.

"We're not interested in the battle between the front-runners. The BAR, Toyota and Sauber strategies will be critical to the outcome of our race.
