Horner: Red Bull stronger after Turkey
Red Bull Racing has emerged from the controversial Turkish Grand Prix collision between Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber stronger as a team
That is the view of boss Christian Horner, who reckons that the way his outfit had to sort out the fallout from the Istanbul event has helped unify it as a force.
"I think ultimately we will come out of the whole Turkey issue stronger, as a group and as a team," Horner told AUTOSPORT.
"For sure we have learned some valuable lessons from Istanbul, and hopefully we will look back on it at the end of the year and be able to look back at it slightly more light-heartedly than we did last week."
Horner said that it had been fairly easy for the team to move on from the Turkish events once work started in Montreal this weekend.
"It has been very straightforward," he said. "The guys are working as they always have done - in an open and transparent way. We are sharing information and working collectively to improve the car.
"We ran the same strategy with both cars - and it would have been easy to split them because we felt it was a preferable strategy. We have therefore elected to jump in both feet, and both drivers delivered a good job in qualifying."
And Horner reckons that if there was another coming together between his two drivers, Red Bull Racing had learned lessons about how to handle such a situation better in the future.
"You can always learn. Every day in this business you are learning - whether that is as a driver, as a team or an individuals. I sincerely hope that we don't have a situation to deal with it like that in the future, but if we do we will deal with it accordingly."
