Grapevine: Loeb eyes Formula One test
World rally champion Sebastien Loeb has said he has got his sights on testing a Formula One car in the near future - although he has denied that he is considering a career outside of rallying
The Frenchman had a taste of circuit racing at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours and has admitted that he wants to experience F1 machinery in the near future to see how he would fare.
"Many people would like to see me in an F1 car," he said. "It's true that I would like to try but only for pleasure, just to know how I measure up.
"It's not because I am good at rallying that I would beat records in F1. I would need to try and feel how it is, but at 31 years old, it seems difficult to start a career in that sport."
Loeb has admitted that at his age he has probably left it too late to seriously considering making the switch to any type of circuit racing.
"Today I don't really see in which motorsport category I could start a new career because it would require way too much time before getting to an interesting level."
