Glock optimistic on F1 future chances
Timo Glock is optimistic about his chances of securing his Formula 1 future for next year, despite Toyota delaying a decision on its line-up
The Japanese squad has an option on Glock for next year, but the team has admitted it is in no hurry to make a decision as the market continues to be very open.
Glock, however, says his possibilities are good for 2010, and reckons his second-place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix is a good boost for him.
"The teams are looking around, the drivers are looking around, so it's quite an interesting period in Formula 1," Glock told Reuters. "A podium like we had in Singapore does show what I can do.
"The market is a bit full at the moment with drivers but my possibilities are quite good."
The German admitted he is dreaming of victory at Toyota's home race this weekend, something he reckons could be closer if the race is wet.
"I've always been quick in wet conditions, it's always down to the driver," he added. "To be on the podium in Singapore was great, to be on the podium in Malaysia was great, but to be on the podium in Suzuka or win the race would be a mega-dream.
"I would stay four or five days longer in Japan having a party with Toyota people."
