Glock: Monaco a one-off for Toyota
Timo Glock says he is confident Toyota's poor showing at the Monaco Grand Prix was just down to the nature of the Monte Carlo circuit
The Japanese outfit struggled at the principality, with Glock qualifying last and team-mate Jarno Trulli right ahead.
Glock went on to finish in 10th position in what has been Toyota's worst weekend of the season.
The German, however, believes Monaco was a one-off and expects his team to return to form in Turkey.
"I am confident Monaco was a one-off because we had been really competitive in the previous races, so we know the car is pretty good," said Glock. "Monaco is a unique track so I think we won't have the same issues in Turkey.
"Nevertheless, we have to push really hard to understand what happened and to improve the car for the next races. We are third in the Constructors' Championship and everyone back in Cologne is working hard to get more and more performance from the car so even though Monaco was disappointing we are staying positive. This is important."
The Toyota driver, who started from the pitlane in Monaco, admitted he was surprised to be able to climb up to 10th after such a hard weekend.
"I would say it was difficult and a little bit surprising in the end because I didn't expect to finish in the top 10 after starting from the pit lane. I had a very heavy fuel load at the start of the race and, especially at Monaco, this is hard work for a driver.
"I am never happy with 10th place because my goals are a lot higher than that, but considering how the car felt on Saturday and the results we had in qualifying I would say we achieved the best result we could realistically expect."
